I really feel for ya Cap'n ... out at sea, greeting the day before most of us wake up, tracking the moon across the sky while we're all watching TV huddled in our homes... I'd be bored, too... HEY! You could always pretend to be out of gas again - might be the first time you arrived in port with a full tank, eh?

Had our monthly First Friday Firepit party last night... spilled a beer "for the boys who ain't here" ... your name popped up from some of the guests who met ya last time you were here. Told 'em about yer latest adventure. You have a dozen willing crew-members anytime you want... although most were several sheets into the wind when they volunteered. (Pun intended).

I, for one, volunteer for the midnight watch - I do my best thinkin' in the dark. - Muthuh

Captain, you should know that Mr. Shirley has spun a few stories in his day, so I am not quick to swallow this mid ocean UN meeting ... but I will buy the cheese cake story as I have had the pleasure!

Thanks for addressing the REAL issues you discussed when accepting the fuel from this ship. While you have been at sea for over a month, piracy has been in the news ALOT lately...of course, in the usual place, the Gulf of Aden, but they have taken over ships, not just little sailboats recently. While I know it is not prevalent in this part of the world, I know it is a common question for those not familiar with the cruising environment. It was very interesting to learn of the interactions and probable thoughts of you, the Desert Serenity and the far off ship, Minerva Grace. Thanks for the taste of reality along with the great tale of maritime camaraderie!

Hey Cap'n... If I ever get a chance to crew one of your adventures... can we pretend to be out of gas, too? SOMEbody has to show you how to suck diesel fuel properly! The story goes... we were on the side of Interstate 29 near Souix City, 8 Harleys on their kickstands mere feet away from traffic, and yours truly is sucking on the end of a hose dipped into a gas tank...yup, one of the dipshits filled his up with diesel...the embellished version is much better, but requires several tequila's - check out pics 3,4 & 5 ... sail on, my friend. - Muthuh

My bride of 31 years called me last night on her way to Pilates class to tell me (after 31 years she's earned the right to TELL me things) to look up at the moon and asked what those VERY bright stars were - maybe satellites in a unique angle to the moon reflecting more than ordinary? I suspected planets but never saw them quite as bright before. I told her (I on the other hand rarely TELL her anything) that I would look it up on Google and have an answer - something which I promptly forgot to do and went back to flying Flight Simulator on the computer... currently leaving Jackson Hole airport headed for points west... So, Cap'n B - thanks for clarifying what those 'stars' were. I'll take all the credit for my brilliant researching abilities. -Muthuh

That is what I miss being on land! Knowing the phase of the moon and seeing it rise every night! Have no clue the phase of the moon right now, so enjoy the moon and stars for me as I am now an official dirt-dweller. Say "HI" to the dolphins for me...I miss them! Don't miss the CRASH! BANG! KaBOOM! SWOOSH! UGH! though! Have a safe passage!!
